A new episode of The Triple Po is upon us! This week is a news week, wherein Lyman and I give our important dudebro hot takes on current events. First off, I wanted to promote my good friend Melina Barrett and her run for Florida Senate, District 5. Melina Barratt is a trans woman running on progressive policies. I don’t have to tell y’all how much we need people like her in Florida and in the South generally. I am including her information and where you can donate in the show notes. We also gave a shot-out to my friend Robbin Renaud for her kind words about the podcast. She is an awesome person, and I greatly appreciate her compliment!

Welcome to another exciting of The Triple Po! First we briefly discuss my vasectomy, both my experience and the aftermath. Let me tell you, this makes for fascinating listening! We talk briefly also about Trump’s dumbassery regarding the raid that killed al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, and how it succeeded not BECAUSE of him, but IN SPITE of him, as well as his narcissistic and overblown announcement when it occurred, including classified information that will probably harm our and our allies efforts to capitalize on this killing. And of course we talk about the glorious booing that rained down upon him at Game 5 of the World Series in Washington, DC. His reaction going from a smile to a crestfallen look, on the verge of crying, is a think of pure beauty.
Most of our episode though (and probably more oxygen than these douchebags deserve) are those assmonkeys over at Freethought Prophet, mostly regarding their Silverman worship and seeming inability to recognize that platforming that asshole is only further legitimizing him, thus further telegraphing to women that they shouldn’t be expected to feel safe regarding powerful White dudes in the ‘atheist movement’. Of course, this caused my friend Zach, who is pretty levelheaded, to light into them as only he can, before finally giving up because he has better things to do. Well we don’t! And we’re petty! So fuck those guys and their matching shirts and lava lamps! We are Wokus Dei!

This week on The Triple Po I speak to my old friend Brandi about her recent run-in with the law regarding drugs, but also how her privilege kept the legal outcome being much worse. Related to that, we talk about failure that is the War on Drugs and the racist and inadequate laws used to try to enforce the war. Oh, and we talk about how Trump sucks, which is low hanging fruit nowadays! It was a great conversation and it was great to talk to Brandi again after a couple of years.

Another installment of the Triple Po is upon us. In the pre-ramble I speak briefly about Trump’s State of the Union speech, and how there’s no way I’m watching the Orange Overlord spew his noxious bullshit. I then talk about how I have become involved with Atheist Alliance Helping the Homeless Nashville, an organization I found out about only last week. I plan on helping by doing to the once monthly giveaways, as well as promoting on the newly created Twitter account, along with the show’s social media. On top of all of this, one of the organizers who I met up with to give a clothing donation to, John Boughner, became a patron at the $5 level! How awesome is that? I also read a new iTunes review from friend of the show and fellow podcaster Cory Johnston.
On the palaver, I speak to newly acquired Facebook friend Rick Manuel. We talked about his previous job asking for and giving grants for the city of Lafayette, LA. We also went off tangents about teachers, charter schools, libraries, and how much Trump sucks, as well as sundry other interesting topics. This was definitely a wide-ranging and entertaining discussion with a really great guy. I hope y’all enjoy it!

Her critics are of the alt-right, Sargon loving variety, so you can just imagine the sort of lovely comments she receives. We talk about how she deals with the trolls, and how she copes mentally with the abuse. We also discuss Mythicist Milwaukee and her role in exposing the true intent of the organizers. Finally, we talk about Skepticon and how this is an example of a convention that us SJW types should be focusing on organizing. We had a great discussion, and I think y’all will enjoy it.
